The Ellabug is my version of the ubiquitous Woolly Bugger modified for smallmouth bass. The hook shank is weighted so that the fly is easily castable yet sinks well. The fly is tied with added flash plus two soft hen hackles for more inherent action. The brown and olive are especially effective on both smallmouth and carp. Tied on a Tiemco 5263 barbless, or a Daiichi 1720 barbed, 3x long chemically sharpened hook.
