The Heifer Groomer is Kelly Galloup's version of an articulated Zoo Cougar. This is a very effective large streamer for trophy brown trout. I became completely hooked on this fly one of the first times I used it, the big guys wouldn't leave it alone! This fly shimmies and shakes with the best of them. As the Heifer Groomer is a rather large fly I recommend a medium action 7-weight rod for most casters. An advanced fly-caster can get by with a fast action 6- weight but should be prepared to work at it. Tied On Daiichi 1720 (front and rear) chemically sharpened hooks.
