Ephemerella invaria or the Light Hendrickson is an extremely abundant mayfly in the East and Midwest. Major hatches occur from early May in the South to late June in the North. This effective “classic” pattern is one of the few traditional dry patterns that I use. See also: Light Hendrickson emerger, comparadun, parachute, spinner, or the Light Hendrickson Set. Tied on Daiichi 1190 (or TMC 100) barbless, or Daiichi 1180 barbed chemically sharpened dry fly hooks.
