John's Hex

I designed this steelhead pattern for rivers that are inhabited by the large Hexagenia limbata mayfly. This is a great mid to late Spring pattern for steelies and is also very effective in late June for trout when the big mayflies hatch. The John's Hex is also available with chartreuse, orange, or salmon colored tails in size 8 only. The natural version is available in hook sizes 6 and 8. Tied on a Tiemco 700 heavy wire Steelhead/Salmon hook.
