A very efffective and simple spey fly for steelhead. The red/orange/yellow color combination works well at dusk and is also a good producer for early spring browns. The "Rusty's Spey," so named for local tyer Rusty Kalmbach who suggested the color scheme, is responsible for some of the most memorable fish that I have ever caught. One was a bright chrome steelie that moved and slammed this fly and we were off to the races. A weighted version is also available that is designed to be fished with a conventional 8-weight rod with a sinking line, sink tip line, or sinking leader. The Marabou Spey fly is tied on a Daiichi 2441 Salmon hook.
