Like its brother, the
large Stone Nymph, I developed this fly for steelhead. I use this fly extensively in the early Spring for steelhead on western Michigan rivers. This is also a great fly for brown trout in the Spring, or any other time that these nymphs are active. The fact that I have sold oodles of these to local fly shops is the best testimony to this flies’ effectiveness. The Stone nymph is tied with regular and flashback wing cases. Also available in a
bead head version. Tied on a Daiichi X710 X-point heavy wire nymph hook.
