Dark Hendrickson Spinner

Ephemerella subvaria or the Dark Hendrickson is one of the season’s first major mayfly hatches. In the Northeast and upper Midwest the hatch usually lasts for 2-3 weeks. Fish this female spinner pattern in the late afternoon through the evening. Noted author, Bob Linsenman, who introduced me to this pattern, emphatically claims, “This is the best spinner pattern, period!” See also: Dark Hendrickson nymph, emerger, parachute, comparadun, and cripple patterns or the Dark Hendrickson Set. Tied on a Daiichi 1280 chemically sharpened hook. Please specify barbed or de-barbed hooks when ordering.

  • Price: $2.25 each or $24.30 per dozen.
  • Options: Barbed or de-barbed hooks.
  • Sizes: 12, 14.
